The transformation to a sustainable economy concerns us all, and it is our goal to actively shape this change. With our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the goal of achieving Net-Zero CO₂, we are taking a crucial step forward.
At the Mayer Group, social and environmental responsibility are firmly anchored. Climate protection, eco-friendly strategies, responsible resource management, and social commitments are central elements of the Mayer Group's philosophy. We also ensure that our business partners uphold these values. Moving forward, we will continue to act decisively and vigorously to secure a sustainable future.
The Mayer Group, along with its affiliated companies in Germany and abroad, has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This commitment provides us with a clear methodology to implement the goal of the Paris Agreement to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C. The SBTi enables us to pursue our climate targets in a scientifically sound and long-term manner. By adhering to these targets, we make an important contribution to the global effort against climate change.
The Mayer Group aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and 3) by 2050. This includes direct emissions, purchased energy, and indirect emissions. To reach our goals, we rely on sustainable practices and technologies such as improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy. Additionally, we strengthen partnerships with suppliers and customers to develop innovative solutions.
We aim to have our targets validated by the SBTi in 2024, marking an important milestone. We view the path to net-zero not only as a responsibility but also as an opportunity to promote sustainable innovations and enhance our competitiveness. The Mayer Group will work towards these goals with determination and transparency to create a sustainable and climate-friendly future, making a positive contribution to climate protection.
With the production of ecological products, such as the world's first climate-neutral envelope Envirelope®, we have been demonstrating our claim in this area since 2009. The CO2-neutral product received the " Blauer Engel" (Blue Angel) as an additional award. Our brands NAUTILUS®, SUMO®, and others place a high value on environmental friendliness alongside superior quality. By using paper-based shipping and packaging solutions in e-commerce and retail, we and our customers help to reduce plastic consumption.
