In November 2019, the Mayer Group founded the new business division mayer-digital GmbH & Co. KG at its headquarters in Heilbronn. In the future, mayer-digital will emerge as the digital competence centre of the entire corporate group. The aim of the unit is to bundle digital know-how and to advance the group-wide digitisation strategy on a national as well as international level.
With the establishment of the new business unit, the Mayer Group is taking a decisive step towards the future. While digitisation is steadily increasing and the market is developing rapidly, the demands not only on IT landscapes but also on processes and structures are rising. "The founding of mayer-digital is therefore an important and, above all, the only logical step," Thomas Schwarz, CEO of the Mayer Group, summarises the decision.
explains Elena Krause, Managing Director of mayer-digital. The newly created business division mayer-digital addresses focal points such as "New Media" and "Digitalisation & Services". Through their interaction, new ideas can be developed, state-of-the-art technologies implemented and digital future solutions realised. For example, e-commerce and Web2Print solutions as well as marketing portals and app-supported One2One communication are created.
The newly acquired expertise will support the Mayer Group in facing the challenges of the digital transformation and exploiting the resulting opportunities - from which customers and partners will also benefit.
With immediate effect, the mayer-digital unit forms the third pillar in the Mayer Group and thus complements the two previous pillars of the core business (envelopes and mailing bags) and light packaging (bread and bakery bags, paper carrier bags and folding boxes).
